Organised by Paper Communication Exhibition Services and co-organised by Knitwear Innovation and Design Society, the Award Presentation Ceremony was successfully organized on 5 June 2009. The Organiser aims at encouraging more people to get involved in the knitwear industry by holding this competition, discovering more new designers, providing designers to showcase their talents, and promoting cultural exchange of design between Hong Kong and China. In addition, Textile Institute Association (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers Association were invited to be the supporter of the competition.

More than 130 entries were submitted. These entries were all in high quality standard. Prizes of Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up were awarded. Apart from this, “Creativity Award”, “Best Knitting Technique Award” and “My Favourite Design” were also awarded in the ceremony. The judging was based on designs’ creativity, marketability, aestheticism and knitting technique application.

Ms. Sharon Li from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was awarded Champion and Creativity Award for her design “Glacier”. Ms. Katie Cheng from Hong Kong Design Institute picked up three awards in the competition. They are 2nd Runner-up, Best Knitting Technique Award and My Favourite Design. Mr. Kapture Chui from Hong Kong Design Institute was the 1st Runner-up in the competition for his design “The Great Wave 2”.

Champion: Glacier
Ms. Sharon Li from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was awarded Champion and Creativity Award for her design “Glacier”.	The audiences were interested in the designs.
